How to Maximize Adsense Revenue on Your Blog

In this post, we will talk about how we can maximize the revenue from Adsense.

There are many steps we can take to achieve our goal. Assuming you already have a blog, there is no point in finding high-value topics to build a blog on.

Instead, we will focus on increasing the CTR of Ads. CTR is Click Through Rate, which is counted in percentage. It’s usually between 0.50% to 1%.  And if we double our CTR, it will double our revenue from Adsense, as simple as that.

Increase the CTR of Ads on Your Blog

These days, visitors using their mobile devices to browser websites, meaning there is no sidebar, and all your websites/blogs will appear in a single column. So it would be best if you placed your ads in a way that is visible to many people.

You can shift all the Ads in the content area. Use a simple plugin like QUADS, which will let you insert Ads (not just Adsense) anywhere in your posts.

Ad 1: Below the title

Ad2:  Below first image (if you start the articles with an image)

Ad3: After 2nd Paragraph,

Ad 4: End of the Post.

the other thing you can do to get Maximum Revenue is to make your pages longer, which means writing longer articles to insert more ads. Since Google now allows more than 3 ads, if your content/ ads ration is not aggressive. Consider putting ads after 200 to 300 words.

Opt for AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)

AMP is an initiative by Google and is supported by many services already. as I talked about, Mobile traffic is increasing year on year, and the websites are getting heavy year on year. An average website takes more than 20 seconds to load fully on 3G Mobile Data (forget about loading your website on 2G).

Along with content, Ads also take too long to load, and by the time they are loaded, the user has already scrolled down, so there is no chance of revenue from ads.

To solve this problem, we need to make our websites faster, and AMP does that.

It cuts down scrips, images, and other elements from your website and only loads the content and basic design (logo and color scheme of your website), , which makes the website load faster.

And when a website loads faster, Ads also load faster, and your revenue also grows faster.

Our friends have created a great WordPress plugin called Better AMP, which gives you various controls. Install Better AMP and enable AMP for your website.

AMPs will only be shown to people who are coming from Google Search (if Google has got your AMPs indexed)

Search Traffic Generates More Revenue than Social Traffic

Social Media is getting bigger yearly, and your website might get a lot of traffic. But if you get the same amount of traffic from search, your revenue would be 2x to 3x more. This is pure because of the intent of the user.

When visiting your site via Social Media, they tend to read the blog post and either share it or leave the website.

But when a person is searching for something, he is looking for something. The beauty of Adsense is that it shows Ads relevant to the content, and there are high chances the user will click on the ads since they are looking for something.

Now, driving search traffic to a blog is a whole different story, which depends on the topic of your blog, but the general idea is to write something that is getting searched.

Some things are in the news that gets searched.

There are some solutions to problems people are looking for

There are reviews, tutorials, or how to do something which gets searched.

So, these are the best things you can apply to your blog to generate more Adsense revenue. But having said that, you should also be aware that Adsense revenue has decreased overall for everyone in the last few years.

I’ve been using Adsense for the last 10 years. There was a time when I was getting an RPM (Revenue Per 1000 Impressions) of $5 in 2011-2012, and it now ranges between $0.75-$1.25 in 2016-2017 for the same blog.

If your blog niche has scope for a product, I would highly recommend you read my short email course Turning Profitable to figure out a monetization model for your blog and make a profit.
